Jill Grassmick, RDH, AAS, Capital Symposiums President, CEO
Jill Grassmick, RDH, is a graduate of State University of New York at Buffalo with a degree in Dental Hygiene. She has 40+ years of clinical practice experience with emphasis on general, cosmetic and periodontal care with 17 years clinical experience in soft tissue lasers. She holds the Academy of Laser Dentistry Standard Proficiency in both Diode and Nd: YAG lasers. Her career has been multifaceted in clinical dental hygiene, dental hygiene consulting services, entrepreneur and CE speaker. Jill is an active leader in the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) serving at the local, state and national levels and a member of the Academy of Laser Dentistry
Janet Press, RDH
Fellow of the Academy of Laser Dentistry, is a Dental Hygienist in specialty and general practice for 38 years with 17 years clinical experience in soft tissue lasers. Ms. Press holds Standard Proficiency in both Diode and Nd:YAG lasers and has served on the ALD Regulatory Affairs, Scientific Sessions, and Auxiliary Committees. Previously co-director of Dynamic Team and Laser Certification Programs at Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Studies (LVI), Janet speaks internationally and holds the honor of being named a “Distinguished Dental Professional”. Ms. Press conducts national workshops and private dental office consultation/ training programs with emphasis on soft tissue lasers in dentistry, hygiene practice refinement, advanced ultrasonic/piezo instrumentation and team training programs with emphasis on soft tissue lasers in dentistry, and team development/communication.
Winnie Furnari, RDH, MS, FAADH
Winnie Furnari, RDH, MS, FAADH, earned a Masters Degree in Biosecurity and Disaster Preparedness from St Louis University. She is a Past President of the New Jersey Dental Hygienists’ Association and the Dental Hygienists’ Association of the State of New York. She has held numerous positions on the state and local level. She serves on the Access and Dimensions Editorial Advisory Boards, chairs the ADHA IOH Grant Review Committee, New York University Dental Hygiene Advisory Board, and several College Committees. She serves on the Board of the American Academy of Dental Hygiene and has been published in national and international journals.
She is an Associate Professor and Assistant Clinical Director at New York University College of Dentistry and teaches a Forensic Dentistry/Bioterrorism Preparedness course for dental hygienists in the Baccalaureate program
Lillian J. Caperila, R.D.H, B.S.D.H, M.Ed.
Lillian Caperila served as the President of the Pennsylvania Dental Hygienists’ Association in 1999-2000 during her tenure as a faculty professor at the Harcum College Dental Hygiene
Program. She approaches 12 years with Premier Dental Products Company as their Manager of Continuing Education, Training and Dental Hygiene Corporate Relations. She has also enjoyed an extensive list of accomplished programs presented to international colleagues throughout the Asian-Pacifi c, South Africa, and European countries. Of most recent
achievements, Lil was honored as a new inductee to the Alumni Foundation - Hall of Fame at Montgomery County Community College and was the 2010 recipient of the ADHA
Irene Newman Dental Hygiene Professional Leadership Award. In December issue of Dimensions in Dental Hygiene journal, she is named as one of six dental hygienists to know!
Catherine Berard, BSDH, RDH
Catherine A. Berard, BSDH, RDH, is a graduate of University of Michigan School of Dental Hygiene. She practices clinical dental hygiene in a multi-Specialty group practice in No.VA. In addition she is responsible for OSHA and CPR training. She is currently adjunct faculty at Northern Virginia Community College. She is an active member of ADHA, NVDHA and a member of OSAP (Organization for Safety & Asepsis Procedures).
Jacquelyn Fried, RDH, BA, MS
Jacquelyn Fried, RDH, BA, MS is an Associate Professor and Director of Inter-professional Initiatives at the University of Maryland, School of Dentistry. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and her Certificate in Dental Hygiene from the Ohio State University and she earned a Master of Science in Dental Hygiene from Old Dominion University. She loves to write, edit and publish and to mentor others to develop these skills
Lisa S. Stillman, RDH, BS
Lisa E. Stillman, RDH, BS is the Northeast Xylitol Educator for Wasatch Sales Force. She teaches dental health professionals the general and dental health benefits of quality xylitol products with presentations and literature and assists dental offices in incorporating xylitol into the dental hygiene protocol. Lisa has practiced dental hygiene in Maryland and Virginia and currently has a position specializing in Periodontics. Lisa has also developed an organization called “Dental Voice for Mental Health” that assists mental health care recipients in caring for their oral health with awareness and education. Lisa is featured in the Bipolar Magazine and the Schizophrenia Digest and RDH Publication.
Betsy Reynolds, RDH, MS
Armed with degrees in dental hygiene and oral biology, Betsy Reynolds, RDH, MS, presents scientifically-based dental and dental hygiene continuing education programs nationally and internationally. Avidly committed to making the dental sciences understandable and relevant, Betsy devotes time and energy to publishing articles and book chapters designed to enlighten and inspire clinicians. Her continuing education presentations include a variety of topics involving the biologic basis for oral and systemic disease prevention, microbiological and immunological aspects of oral disease, implications of stress on oral and systemic health, oral pathological concerns, oral piercing and body modification considerations in care delivery, head and neck anatomy and scientific developments affecting oral health care delivery. Betsy lives in her home state of Idaho where she enjoys hiking, biking, gardening and taking in the breathtaking scenery with friends, family and her two dogs.
Procter and Gamble Distributing Company 31 years of experience with Procter and Gamble in a variety of roles in a variety of locations. Initially worked for the Beauty Care Division promoting hair care, skin care and toiletry products to retail food and drug customers in Southern California. Moved to Central Pennsylvania and assumed the role of Section Manager promoting Crest and Peridex to Dental professionals. Currently a Territory Manager in the Oral Care Division, located in Northern Virginia. Responsible for promoting the clinical benefits of Oral-B and Crest brands to Dental professionals in order to gain recommendations to patients to improve lives
Karen A. Raposa, RDH, MBA
Karen Raposa, RDH, MBA: is currently Clinical Education Manager with Hu-Friedy Manufacturing Company. During her twenty years of private practice, Karen has helped thousands of patients overcome their fears about dental treatment. She has authored articles on a variety of dental subjects and co-edited a textbook entitled "Treating the Dental Patient with a Developmental Disorder". Her work has been published in both Dr. Esther Wilkins' textbook titled "Clinical Practice of the Dental Hygienist", as well as the Dental Clinics of North America "The Special Care Patient" publication. Karen is a former assistant professor in Boston University's Department of General Dentistry. She was the first recipient of the Dimensions of Dental Hygiene's Professional Achievement Award in 2010 and in 2013, she was awarded the title as one of the "Top 25 Women in Dentistry" by Dental Products Reports. Karen was recently interviewed by the New York Times and was quoted as an expert in the field of dental care for patients with autism in their Science Times section.
